As per Charles Dickens,"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Heavy rains, heavy high winds created white caps on lakes, temperature at night down to low 40's! We had a great memorable time. Met more canoeing from States than in previous years. All friendly and sharing same Mother Nature was sharing. Fishing was at best "OK!"Prairrie Portage Justin actually told us a joke this year! Let two Canadian Rangers working the Portage! Great job and thanks. Not many mosquitoes this trip!

Hi, We camped at this campground in our 40ft motorhome on June 11 2018. The gravel road in was reasonable but overhanging tree branches meant it was impossible to stay on the correct side of the road without doing serious damage to the rig. So we needed to wait for oncoming vehicles to pass in order to cross to their side to avoid damage. The right turn to get to our site #78 was impossible to make in a 40ft rig.At the dump station water fill site there is no male thread on the hose to attach your own hose to, just a piece of garden hose pushed onto a barbed fitting. When leaving we called into the office to mention these issues but the Parks Canada employee seemed quite uninterested. He mentioned that we are in a wilderness area and they want It to be as natural as possible. Sounds like a poor excuse for not maintaining the clear access to sites. The site we were given was large enough for our size rig but it was very difficult getting through the overgrowth to the site. Certainly left with a lot more tree branch pinstripes than we arrived with. All that said it is a great location for smaller rigs.

We stayed at Dawson Trails Campground. Not a large campground, but great sites, beaches, and trails. Had a couple of times over my 10 day visit where I wish the staff would have tried a bit harder, but overall they were pleasant and helpful.

Peaceful, Beautiful, Quiet... A recommend for sure. They also rent canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Two gorgeous beaches and even a doggy beach. Something to do for sure!

We canoed from French Lake to The Pines beach. We rented canoes from a Outfitter that keeps the canoes in the park and provide life jackets and paddles. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended
